About Unleashed Electric
The Corona Electrician for Homes Going Electric
Unleashed Electric is a licensed C-10 electrical contractor working out of Corona for homeowners across the Inland Empire and Orange County. The work is deliberately narrow: EV chargers, main-panel and subpanel upgrades, dedicated circuits, troubleshooting and lighting — the jobs that decide whether a house can actually run a heat pump, an induction range and a car charger at the same time.
Most of our customers are homeowners aged 30 to 65 upgrading a house they plan to keep: replacing a 40-year-old panel, wiring a garage for an EV, or chasing down a circuit that trips every time the AC starts. They tend to care more about the install being right and lasting than about being the cheapest quote — which is the customer this shop is built for.
How the work is done
Every job starts with a real look at the existing service — panel brand and rating, the condition of the meter main, how the grounding and bonding were done, what the utility can feed the property. You get a written estimate before anything is scheduled. Where the scope needs a permit — a panel change, a service upgrade, most EV circuits — we pull it with the city or county and meet the inspector.
Terminations are torqued to the manufacturer's spec, the panel is labeled circuit by circuit, and the load calculation is done so the service has headroom for whatever gets added next. The goal is a code-compliant system that still makes sense in ten years, not a fix that clears the immediate problem and leaves the next one for someone else.

Six Jobs That Cover Most Corona Homes
Tap the one that sounds like your project to jump straight to the estimate form.
EV Charger Installation
Tesla, ChargePoint or a NEMA 14-50 outlet — a dedicated 240V circuit sized and permitted for the car you have and the one after it.
Start estimateElectrical Panel Upgrades
If your panel is a 100A Zinsco, Federal Pacific or fused service — or you're adding solar, an EV and a heat pump — this is the upgrade to 200A.
Start estimateSubpanel Installation & Replacement
Feeding a garage, shop, ADU or pool equipment pad without overloading the main — a properly sized subpanel and feeder.
Start estimateDedicated Circuits
A new 240V or 20A home run for the range, dryer, mini-split, hot tub, well pump or welder — one appliance, one breaker.
Start estimateElectrical Troubleshooting & Repairs
Breakers that trip, half the house dark, lights that flicker, burning smell at an outlet — found, explained and repaired.

Done Right
What "To Code" Actually Means on the Job
Permits Pulled
Panel swaps, service changes and most EV circuits are permitted work. We file it with the city or county and meet the inspector — you never chase paperwork.
Labeled Panels
Every breaker gets a printed, accurate directory. Six months from now you can find the right circuit in seconds instead of flipping all of them.
Torqued Terminations
Lugs and breakers tightened to the manufacturer's inch-pound spec. Loose connections are the leading cause of a hot panel — this is where it's prevented.
Real Load Calculations
An Article 220 load calc before a service is sized, so the panel has margin the day it is energized — not a service that is maxed on arrival.
Future-Ready Sizing
Panel spaces, conduit and service capacity left with headroom for the solar, battery or second EV charger that tends to follow the first upgrade.
Clean Rough-In
Straight runs, cable supported and stapled to code, penetrations sealed. Work that passes inspection the first time and looks like it was planned.
Why Unleashed Electric
What Working With Us Is Like
Modern Work Is the Whole Job
EV chargers and panel upgrades aren't a sideline here — they're the daily work, so the load calcs, the utility coordination and the inspection details are routine, not a first attempt.
Straight Answers on Price
You get a written estimate and the reasons behind the number — panel location, wall finish, permit fees, whether the utility has to be involved — before anything is scheduled.
Built to Still Make Sense Later
A long-term, code-compliant fix over the cheapest patch. If a repair is the right call we say so; if the panel is failing we show you why, and size the replacement for what's coming.

Service Area
Corona and Across the Inland Empire & Orange County
Based in Corona, we cover the surrounding Inland Empire and much of Orange County. The power utility changes from city to city — SCE, Riverside Public Utilities, Anaheim Public Utilities, Ontario's OMUC — and that decides how a service or panel upgrade gets coordinated and inspected.
- Corona
- Home base. Permits through the City of Corona; SCE territory. A lot of 1970s–90s tract homes on original 100A panels.
- Riverside
- Riverside Public Utilities is the power provider here, not SCE — service upgrades run through RPU. Older Wood Streets homes often need a full service.
- Eastvale
- Newer construction, mostly 2000s. Usually already 200A — the work is EV circuits, sub-panels for the ADU and whole-home surge.
- Norco
- Horse-property lots with barns, well pumps and detached shops that need their own sub-panels and dedicated circuits.
- Chino
- City of Chino and San Bernardino County permitting depending on the parcel. Older dairy-preserve homes still turn up Federal Pacific panels.
- Chino Hills
- Hillside and wildland-interface parcels — outdoor wiring, conduit and EV pedestals get done to the stricter exterior methods.
- Ontario
- Ontario Ranch runs on Ontario Municipal Utility (OMUC); the older north side is SCE. That changes who signs off a service upgrade.
- Jurupa Valley
- A newer city on former county land — Mira Loma and Glen Avon lots often mix rural service drops with new additions.
- Irvine
- Master-planned, heavy EV adoption, and HOA/architectural review on exterior equipment — we plan charger and meter locations around it.
- Anaheim
- Anaheim Public Utilities is municipal, not SCE. Anaheim Colony bungalows can still have 1920s wiring behind a newer panel cover.
- Santa Ana
- Dense pre-1960 housing stock — Floral Park and French Park homes on 60–100A services are the typical panel-upgrade candidate.
Also serving Norco, Jurupa Valley and the wider Inland Empire and Orange County. Not sure if you're in range? Send your address or call and we'll tell you.
Questions Homeowners Ask
Before You Call, or Right After
Do I need a permit to upgrade my panel or add an EV charger?
Almost always, yes. A main-panel replacement or service upgrade is permitted work everywhere we operate, and most 240V EV circuits are too. We pull the permit with your city or county, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector — it is part of the price, not an add-on you handle.
How long does a panel upgrade take?
A straightforward 100A-to-200A change is usually a one-day job on site. The utility has to disconnect and reconnect the service, and the city has to inspect, so the calendar time from estimate to finished can run one to three weeks depending on how fast SCE — or RPU, APU, OMUC in the cities that have their own utility — schedules the cut.
My breakers keep tripping. Is that a repair or a panel replacement?
It depends on why. A single circuit tripping under load is often a repair — a bad breaker, a loose connection, a shared neutral, or simply too much on one circuit that needs its own. A main breaker tripping, scorch marks, or a Zinsco or Federal Pacific panel that will not hold a breaker points toward replacement. We diagnose it before quoting either.
Can my house handle an EV charger and a heat pump?
That is what a load calculation answers. A 200A service with a modern panel usually has room; an older 100A service running electric heat, a range and a dryer often does not, and that is when the panel upgrade and the charger get done together. We run the Article 220 numbers before recommending anything.
Do you replace Zinsco and Federal Pacific panels?
Frequently — they are common in Corona, Chino and older Riverside and Santa Ana homes. Both have a documented history of breakers that do not trip on a fault. Replacement with a current UL-listed panel, new breakers and corrected grounding and bonding is the standard fix.
Are you licensed and insured?
